Visceral Between The Ropes of Madness is a nasty movie from Chile. The film depicts a boxer who loses the biggest match in his career. After this loss he becomes insane and begins his decent into darkness in murder. The film is goes in and out of flashbacks of before and after the loss and shows a truly insane depiction of a man down on life. He goes completely mad and begins to kill people in extremely cruel and brutal ways. All while hallucinating about another entity who is telling him to kill.
This film is a little hard to follow at times. The movie cuts from flash backs to present time without any warning and it consistently does this. Although it is an interesting way to tell the story it can be a bit confusing, especially in the beginning of the film. The movie has a very surreal aspect and sometimes that can be hard to follow also. The film features great performances especially from the lead who is very good at portraying the madness of this man. The effects and death scenes are pretty grotesque looking especially with the use of ropes in the bondage of the victims. It gives it a very brutal and uncomfortable vibe to the whole movie. The film is pretty mean and brutal and it's already got a decent amount of attention due to it's cruelty and extreme nature. There are definitely a ton of scenes in this movie that would be considered extreme and cruel. An example of the cruelty in this movie would be a very memorable scene where the boxer decides to tape up a woman and tie her to a ceiling and very brutally use her as a punching bag.
There were definitely a few problems with this movie.I didn't exactly buy the whole meaning to why this man begins to kill people. It doesn't exactly make a whole ton of sense. I also thought the way the story was told, although interesting, could be a bit distracting and confusing. The film had a ton of positives though. It's very well shot and the acting and effects are all very good. If your a fan of extreme cinema and want something that is a little over the edge this cruel movie may be for you.

Maniac (2012) Review

Maniac tells the tale of frank, a man who refurbishes manikins, murders people and is psychologically damaged due to his traumatizing childhood. When he murders people he scalps them and puts their hair on his manikins. One day a woman comes to take pictures of his prized possessions and he soon falls in love with her, but he is crazy and that leads to a whole lot of crazy, gory and interesting scenes, which ended up making a fantastic movie.
The Acting in the movie is very good, there are allot of great performances especially from Elijah Wood, he is a fantastic killer. Although most of the movie is shot from a POV angle, he does a great job as a frightening and damaged serial killer. His co-stars are all very good and the acting was overall very good.
The cinematography is phenomenal the use of POV camera angels really work out well and give the film a very disturbing point of view, mostly through the eyes of the killer. Which is very interesting to see since it's done so well.
The effects are fantastic, there is allot of practical gore and some pretty brutal death scenes. The special effect and prop guys really out did themselves for this movie, especially since the original film from 1980 had such fantastic effects by the legend Tom Savini.
The movie was very original, but had ideas taken from the original. It wasn't a shot by shot remake of the original slasher classic, which was cool to see because I personally think remakes are getting very bland. But this one worked very well. The story was great, the acting was awesome and the effects were very impressive. The POV view in the film gave it a very dark look and it's an overall fantastic horror movie I would give it a 9/10.

August Underground Penance Movie Review
August Underground Penance
August Underground Penance is the third and final installment in the August Underground trilogy Like all of the other movies it tells the story of two serial killers. Who go around murdering people, going to parties, concerts and just walking around. It basically captures their everyday life as a sicko and is filmed as if it was a serial killers home video collection. It's basically very similar to all of the other August Underground movies, except this one takes on a much darker tone.
The movie is almost depressing and chronicles the fall of these two serial killers. Fred's character is a maniac but seems to be frustrated and really aggressive in this movie. Crusty on the other hand isn't doing so well and is really upset with her life and all of the things she has chosen to do. She realizes that she doesn't really want to go around murdering people and gets really depressed. The tone is darker and sadder then the other two. But I think this is one of the stronger in the series. The fist is the best, the second isn't very good and the third is almost as good as the first.
The filmmaking is well done, even though it is just one with a home video camera it looks decent and the special effects are amazing. The acting is great and I had not problem with any of the actors they were all great. This film we really see their personalities and what they are really thinking inside. This makes the characters more dynamic and as if they have souls even with all of the disturbing bizarre things they do.
This one is very disturbing, it's not as extreme as mordum but it does have it's moments. The home invasion scene is rough and there are other scenes of killings that are hard to watch. I really liked this one although some of the scenes got a little boring and lasted to long. The characters all really break down in the movie and thats what makes it interesting to watch.
Overall I would recommend this movie it's one of the better of the series and was really sad and well done. I would not recommend this to people who are just into mainstream horror, you have to like dark underground stuff to enjoy this and I would also watch the rest of the series before watching this fantastic conclusion to the August Underground series I would give this a solid 8/10.

Nails Movie Review
Nails
Andrey Iskanov's Nails is a very surreal movie about a man who has horrible memories of his murderous past as an assasin decides to try driving nails into his brain to get rid of these terrible memories. Will this help him or will it just drive him more insame?
This is a very surreal and odd movie. There are many scenes where I could not figure out if it was really happening or if it was a hallucination. But I like the low budget feel to the movie. For some reason I really enjoy to see what people can do with a low budget and I think this movie succeeds with the low budget although the plot isn't great. It would make a really good short film but when they expanded it into a feature it made the movie hard to follow and alittle bit boring. Especially ins scenes where there is almost ten minutes of the man eating weird disgusting food, and the scene just goes on and seems to never stop.
But there are some great scenes in this movie, allot of really trippy imagrey that makes the movie really cool. The special effects are decent and looked like it was done by someone who was just starting in special effects. But I did enjoy them allot and thought they worked really well in the movie. I thought the acting was decent, I never thought the acting was bad.
I think that this movie shows allot of style. Andrey Iskanov shows allot of potential with this movie and I know he is a great director. Especially with his movie philosophy of a knife which is alittle long but really well made. Andrew Iskanov is a really surreal director and his movies look almost as dream sequences. Near the end of nails it looks like a nightmareish dream sequence which was really cool.
Overall I liked nails I thought it was a well made movie but I thought it was to long for the story. It was over an hour and it seemed to have the story of something that would last fifteen minutes. I would recommend this movie to people that want to be introduced to Andrey Iskanov movies because this movie really shows his style. Plus this is his first film and is an outstanding debut. I just wished it had more of a story. I would give it a 6/10 and say it's worth a watch.
August Underground MordumMovie Reiview
August Underground Mordum

August Underground Mordum tells a story of a group of serial killers who basically just film their everyday lives. Weither they are just hanging out, murdering people or just doing random things. This movie seems to have no plot at all whatsoever. But thats the whole point of August Underground. All of the movies in the trilogy aren't really plot driven but they are very realistic and thats why this film has gotten so much attention. It actually looked like if you gave a serial killer a camera and told them to film their everyday life.
I liked this I thought that the orignial movie was allot better. This movie seemed as if it was all for shock which it definitely was. This is an extremely disturbing movie, there are many shocking scenes in this movie and it's definitely no for everyone. I won't spoil any of the scenes but they are intense and shocking. The special effects in this movie are really good, Fred Vogel and Jerami Cruise really themselves. I think this is an okay movie but it's just one shock after another and the characters are so disgusting it's hard to watch them, especially the character of Maggot I hated him.
I loved the first August Undergound movie, it's hands down one of my all time favorite movies and is one of the best serial killer movies of all time. This on the other hand was pure shock value it was one scene after another of disgusting, disturbing scenes all put together into one movie. It almost plays out even plotless as the first one. I believe that is mainly because it was originally filmed as a music video for a metal band, but they had to much footage so they made it into a feature length film.
I really enjoyed Fred Vogels character he was pyscho as always. The character of crust was really annoying and just a character that caused trouble between the serial killer group. Maggot was the worst though he was disgusting and seemed to have no limits to what he could do. Killjoy was a great character especially when he showed the group his shack filled with nasty thing. He seemed so psychotic and crazy.
Over all this isn't a great sequal it's an okay movie but isn't as good as the first one. It's in my opinion to much there is no room to get to know the characters. It's just one insane thing after another which isn't horrible but doesn't really work as I hoped it would. I would recommend it to those who have already seen the first film. If you have not seen the first one I would reccomend that and I would only reccomend this one to people who want to watch the whole trilogy. I would give ti a 5/10.

August Underground Movie Review
August Underground
August Underground Tells a story of a killer and his camera man. They go around doing normal day things but also murder people. It basically chronicles these two friend's life in a very up close and personal way. It's even filmed like a home video which makes it all the more realistic. This movie made me extremely impressed by Fred Vogel. I think it's his best movie he has made. But it's kind of hard to explain because there is literally no plot. But thats not necessarily a bad thing.
The film is very well made. The acting is really realistic and makes it a really effective movie. The way the camera is handheld also makes it seem like a real home video. I normally don't like films that are filmed that way but this is the exception I think it worked to their advantage and made it a really strong and effective movie. The way the movie unfolds is great, there are some slow parts to kind of flesh out the movie and so you can get used to the characters. But when the movie kicks in it goes all out. This is one of the craziest movies I have seen in my life and that means allot because I've seen many crazy movies.
This is my favorite Fred Vogel movie, I've seen August Underground Mordum and was not impressed. I thought the Murder Collection was mediocre, The Redsin Tower was enjoyable and I liked Sella Turcica. But this movie blew me away. It's so really good and is an impressive first film for Fred Vogel. I can also see why people don't like it though.
It has some offensive and disturbing scenes in it. Another thing that people might not like is that is has absolutely no plot at all. Which will definitely bother the average film buff who is interested in a good story. But I think as a whole this movie has a story. Although they have a funny way of showing it. I think that the way it is set up and filmed really works and helps the tone and the realism of the movie and some of the things they do seem really crazy for an independent feature.
I liked the characters and though Fred Vogel was a perfect killer. He had fun,but with a very dark and sadistic tone which made the movie all the more scarier. The design of his basement was disgusting and I'm still thinking of how awful it would be to clean that after filming. The other character who we never see because he is the camera man is also good at profiling this killers life.
Overall I really loved this movie. It may not appeal to all audiences though. But for those who have any interest at all in this movie should definitely check it out. I really enjoyed it and think it's a movie really worth watching. It's mainly for fans of extreme horror so if you are sensitive I would stray far away from this movie and watch some thing more light hearted. I would give this movie an 8/10 but I know this isn't something that will appeal to everyone.
Where The Dead Go To Die Movie Review
Where The Dead Go To Die Review

Where The Dead Go To Die is a movie about a group of kids that live in a town and lets just say very disturbing things start happening. There is a child who is told by a demon dog to murder his mother's unborn child, a man who murder's people and takes their memories and another child who has his brothers fetus stuck on his face because when his mother was pregnant with him they were twins but sadly they did not separate. The kid also has a crush on this girl that lives near him and he discovers a very disturbing secret about her.
This movie is extremely disturbing. Although animated it's very dark and has many extremely disturbing things in the movie. When I first saw it I was blown away, in total shock at the horrors portrayed in the movie. These kids have extremely disturbing lives which makes the movie very sad and depressing. The animation is really good, considering it was only done by one guy. Although it has some glitches it still looks great.
The stories in this anthology like movie are all very disturbing and there are some really sick scenes in this movie. This movie is not for the faint of heart. But if you can handle the subject matter of the movie it is definitely worth a watch. The movie also shows depressing things from a childs perspective. You see how the adults are effecting this childrens lives and how horrible they are to them.
The name of the director is Jimmy ScreamerClauz, some may already know of him from his music career. But I think his animation is my favorite thing he does. I've had a chance to talk to him online and he even let me be a voice extra in his new upcoming feature, when black birds fly. Which should be completed by the end of this year and hopefully be out December.
Overall I really like the movie Where The Dead Go to Die. It's extremely disturbing but shows a certain beauty also. I think Jimmy Screamerclauz did a great job with the movie and I would highly
reccomend this movie with extreme caution to those who haven't seen it. This movie deserves a solid 8/10.
